amatoxin, not to step on your toes here, but keepvid is pretty outdated, last I checked, it didn't work for VEVO channels. Plus, if you install ViewTube, you can disable Flash in your browser, Flash is a good way to get your activities tracked.

1.) Install Greasemonkey for Firefox or Tampermonkey for Chrome based browsers.

2.) Install ViewTube

3.) Go to any video and choose the format you want, then click get.

This also works for Vimeo, Dailymotion, and a bunch of porn sites.

i used keepvid as example, only to keep it easy for people who want to save a video without installing any extra apps/plug-ins.
